Sustainability
Each piece of jewellery is made in small batches and limited editions in the UK. The jewellery making process involves sculpting each design by hand carving and using the ancient art of lost wax casting. All silver used in the casting process is cast from recycled sterling silver and eco silver
and is hallmarked by the London Assay Office.
We recycle all of our silver that cannot be used in the making process (tiny offcuts etc). The collections have been designed to be made in small batches or to order, and are handcrafted, without the use of extensive chemicals where possible.
The nature of jewellery historically has been about adornment, meaning and heritage, and
Katrina Alexander pieces are designed for longevity, with meaning.
All packaging, including acid free tissue paper, is of a high quality,
made from recycled goods, is plastic-free (including stickers) and is recyclable.
It comes from a reputable UK company for whom
sustainability is one of their core values.
We are now moving from using recycled wood pulp ribbon
to natural raffia for our gift wrapping - this is made from recycled materials and the recycled content varies from 40-99% subject to batches - it can be recycled depending on your council.
All orders are confirmed digitally eliminating the need for Delivery Notes and Return Sheets.
We have been using renewable energy since 2010, and use ecosia.com as our search engine.
We are currently working even harder to ensure that we are as sustainable and transparent as we can possibly be at this time and will update the website on further updates
as we work towards becoming even more sustainable.
