After working in the events industry in London for many years, in 2005 Katrina left her job as Deputy Managing Director of Ultimate Experience (part of the Concerto Group) and finally took the leap towards a better life/work balance by moving from London to Brighton. In 2008 she embarked on her dream career as a designer/maker and set up Katrina Alexander Jewellery.
Katrina specialises in making striking contemporary silver jewellery which is hand carved into organic sculptural forms using the art of lost wax carving. Her jewellery is stocked in jewellery shops around the country and she has also exhibited at trade shows such as IJL (International Jewellery London), Top Drawer, BCTF, and public shows such as Desire and Treasure (part of London Jewellery Week),
Katrina is a Member of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery and Winner of a Silver Award in the Silver & Precious Metals Category, in Craft&Design 2014's awards. Judge Amanda Stucklin (ex Sotherbys) was particularly taken with the moveable elements of the Infinity Collection.
Her work is continually evolving and if you would like to be kept updated on what Katrina is up to, please do get in touch or sign up for newsletters.
"Jewellery has always played a large part in my life - as a child I was always fascinated by my grandmother and mother's jewels, and as an adult I have always felt undressed without my jewellery. To me a piece of jewellery can provide comfort, make you smile, give you confidence or simply delight you. It becomes a part of you."
